KROG'S KAMP

COHO SALMON
Silvers

The acrobatic silver salmon start entering the river in late July and early August and are here well into the fall of the year. Pound for pound, these fish are considered by many to be the best fighters of all the salmon. Their bright silver scales shimmer as they dance across the top of the water on their tails or do acrobatic manuevers in the air.

Silvers can be caught off the bank in front of kamp but there are also many other options. We can arrange a charter for you on the Kenai or Kasilof rivers, at Seward in the salt water, or we can arrange a flyout silver salmon trip across Cook Inlet.

If you are a fly fisherman, you will want to fish either the upper Kenai River or the Chuitt River on the west side of Cook Inlet. These waters are clear and are wonderful fly fishing areas. A silver salmon on a fly rod is quite an experience.

Picture this...... you're standing knee deep in cool sparkling water. You cast a streamer fly and watch as it starts to sink beneath the surface of the water. All of a sudden your fly rod bends in half and your line peels from your reel. Now a splash and then the flash of a bright silver coho as it dances across the surface. You are now in for quite a battle as you work to bring a trophy Coho to shore. Its an experience you will treasure for a lifetime!

Come and join us at Krog's Kamp for the most superb fishing in the world and a lifetime of wonderful memories and a place you will never forget.
