SPRING IS TRYING TO HAPPEN.
Temperatures dipped below freezing at night the past two evenings due to a colding trend coming in from Russia. We anticipate that temps will begin to warm up and will continue to rise for the remainder of the month of May. Birch trees are trying to bud but the cold weather over the past two days has stunted their growth. The river ice went out calmly with little to no problems two weeks ago although there is still ice and snow along the banks of the river.
Eagles have been seen diving into the river and returning to the air with small fish. We have seen very little in the way of moose this spring. This is not a very pretty time of year on the lower river although the upper river is a beautiful crystal clear turquoise color.
